Mattress Construction
With the Avocado Green Mattress, you get a cool, comfortable, and natural feel because of the cotton cover and wool batting. With 8-inch support coils sandwiched between organic Dunlop latex layers, it’s great for your joints. Latex layers quickly adapt to your body and provide pressure relief. They’re also a good option if you switch positions while you sleep – they’ll always be there for you.
The coils are split into five zones that have been ergonomically designed to provide back support as well as to keep your spine aligned. The Avocado Green Mattress is 6 while it totals 13 once the optional latex layer is added.

Sleeping Positions
Hybrid models typically have a better range of motion than all-foam mattresses, which will sacrifice your ability to adjust. The Avocado’s reinforced edge and targeted support core will help you move freely throughout the night.
Stomach Sleepers – If you’re a stomach sleeper, the Avocado mattress will work well for you because it provides firmness and centered support for those who weigh less than 130 pounds. But those who are shorter than 5’8" might find this mattress too firm.
Back Sleepers – Individually, those who sleep on their backs said that the Avocado’s zoned support core provided them with the necessary support in the areas where it was needed most. Sleepers who weigh more than 130 pounds in particular liked the model’s firmness and were able to move around freely without sinking into the mattress.
Side Sleepers – Side sleepers typically place most of the weight on their shoulder and hips, which can cause pressure to build up. As a result, many prefer soft-to-medium firm sleep surfaces that provide more cushioning and some body conformation.
Firmness Review
The Avocado Green and Vegan mattresses share a close lot of similarities in how they are made. They are both 11 inches thick and fall at a ‘7’ on the firmness level scale, which is ideal for people who want a bed that’s slightly firmer than average.
Value for the Money
Avocado mattresses are more expensive than traditional hybrids, but their reputation for both quality and sustainability make them worth the money - and they last a lot longer too! Avocado Green mattresses are manufactured using eco-friendly processes and feature high-quality eco-friendly materials sourced from the company’s farms.
Avocado Green feature the same price points per size and sharing their dimensions. Customers will be able to add an optional pillow-top at an extra cost to any size of both models.
Overall
Avocado is proud to offer a wide range of eco-friendly products, made without toxic chemicals. Many mattresses contain chemical flame retardants or petroleum-based polyurethane foams, both of which can cause unpleasant odors. You may notice an initial new mattress smell that quickly disappears. However, when the mattresses are shipped in small spaces, they emit quite a strong odor.
While the avocado is shipped compressed, it’s natural materials mitigate off-gassing. Customers found that the “new mattress smell” dissipated quickly without becoming oppressive once opened in a bedroom with adequate air flow.
