Mattress Construction
Nectar’s Premier is a brand new mattress that has 3 foam layers and promises to be soft and cradling to your body while you sleep. The Tempur-Pedic with 3 layers, provide the best of both worlds. With a height profile of 13 inches it is high enough for most people to roll out of bed without bending down and low enough for those that don’t want to climb over anything when they wake up in the morning.
Let’s get started with a closer look at how it’s made and how each stage affects your sleep.
Cover - starting from the top, the Nectar Premier has an ultralight and smooth cover. This cool-to-the-touch weave is a blend of polyethylene and spandex and would be of interest to most hot sleepers.
Polyethylene is highly moisture resistant and is therefore protective against breads, fungi and insects. The fact that this cover can be removed entirely makes it a great option for hygiene freaks.
Comfort layer - A thin, gel-infused comfort layer topping the 3” Nectar Smart Layer is the only thing between your body and this hybrid latex/memory foam mattress. The PCM-embedded layer can manipulate its temperature, breathing with your body and thermo adjusting by either absorbing or releasing heat.
These two are among the most popular technologies for solving heat retention issues. We’ve seen these technologies used in other mattresses that have had much more success with them than memory foam. So, this mattress should give the neutral, lightweight sleeping surface that is best for those who sleep hot on memory foam.
Besides its temperature - the extra 3-inch layer means this mattress has superb pressure relief, comfort and support. Competitors with a 2-inch thickness only offer an average performance - in other words, the softness is not maintained at the edges of the mattress.
Transition layer - the 3-inch layer underneath is gel-infused and offers added comfort. Beneath that, there’s a 3-inch support core made from our soft Nectar’s Dynamic Support foam. This layer helps to create a bit of bounce and bounce back, which help with your response. This also allows you to sink into the matress more comfortably.
Base layer - finally, we get to the whole core of a mattress. It is a 7-inch slab of high-density polyfoam that’s been specifically designed for your comfort! The support core of this mattress provides the most support for your back and allows for excellent spinal alignment. It also supports the comfort layer to provide a cradling sensation and adequate pressure relief.

Sleeping Positions
Basic knowledge of how mattresses are made and what they feel like in different positions might help you make the decision about whether it’s for you. But, it’s more important to know what kind of positions that Nectar Premier is comfortable with. So, I’ve put together a list to show.
Let’s talk about that!
Back Sleeping - the Premier has a comfortable medium-soft level of firmness so you should be able to sleep on the mattress when on your back. Back sleepers have a variety of comfort preferences, which are best accommodated by a mattress with a good mix of softness and support. This plan ensures that they feel comfortable while getting pressure on the lower back to alleviate some pain. This mattress has a 3-inch comfort layer, which is essential for back sleepers. And the slow-response transition zone also ensures that it won’t bottom out.
Side Sleeping - for side sleepers, mattresses need to mold to the natural curves of their shoulders and hips to alleviate pressure on these sensitive areas. Nectar is a firm enough mattress for people with a lightweight, average weight and makes an excellent choice for side sleepers too.
Stomach Sleeping - If you’re a stomach sleeper, you may have found yourself disappointed at the amount of quality mattresses available to your preference. This is because these types of sleep posture have unique needs when it comes to comfort and firmness. The Nectar Premier may be right for you if it’s too soft or too hard. This product is ideal for people under 150 lbs that sleep on their stomach. For heavier individuals, the contouring may not be comfortable.
Firmness Review
A 10 on the firmness scale would be a mattress that you would think is rock hard, and this mattress rates around 5.5. Instead of being extremely firm, it’s actually more on the softer side. That makes it better for those under a certain weight and preference. If you’re lighter, you might find this mattress a little firmer and if you’re heavier it may feel slightly softer.
Value for the Money
The Nectar Premier mattress by Nectar Sleep is a step up in comfort and support from the original, with a higher price tag to match. However, reviews show that despite being on the pricier end of the spectrum, it offers quality material for those looking for something a bit more comfortable. On another note, don’t forget to checkout out Nectar Sleep’s website as they are currently giving free accessories with their mattresses.
Overall
This is a bed we can recommend to anyone who is looking for a comfortable memory foam mattress. It’s made with a heat-sensitive, so it relieves pressure and offers additional cooling technology, just what hot sleepers need.
This mattress actually does pretty well on edge support. While there’s some noticeable sinkage when you sit on it (which is an issue with all-foam mattresses, mind), most people should find themselves stable sleeping along the edge.
